Psychotherapy can help with

Anxiety Therapy
We use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a core approach in anxiety therapy. CBT is a highly effective, evidence-based treatment that helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It teaches practical skills to challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, manage worry, and reduce avoidance. With CBT, you can gain long-term tools to better cope with anxiety, build confidence, and take meaningful steps toward the life they want to live.

Stress Management Therapy
Our approach to stress management is personalized—because no two people experience stress the same way. We start by getting a clear picture of what’s going on in your life through a thoughtful assessment of your lifestyle, current stressors, and how stress is showing up for you day-to-day. From there, we use a blend of therapy modalities tailored to your needs. Our core approaches include mindfulness practices, emotional regulation techniques, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

Chronic Sleep and Insomnia Therapy
Our insomnia services are designed to help you regain restful, rejuvenating sleep through personalized, evidence-based strategies. We’ll address the root causes of your sleep difficulties, providing effective techniques to reduce insomnia, improve sleep quality, and support your overall well-being.

Eating Challenges Therapy
Our approach to disordered eating is compassionate, individualized, and rooted in understanding the bigger picture. We begin with a thorough assessment of your relationship with food, your body, and the emotional and environmental factors that may be influencing your eating patterns. From there, we tailor our support using a blend of therapeutic modalities that best fit your unique needs.

Relationship Issues Therapy
We support individuals and couples navigating a wide range of relationship challenges. Whether you're going through a breakup, divorce, separation, or simply feeling stuck in painful patterns—you're not alone. We work with both individuals and couples using supportive psychotherapy and cognitive-based approaches to help you make sense of what you're going through and find a healthier path forward. These therapies can help improve communication, increase emotional awareness, and reduce reactivity in conflict. They also support you in identifying unhelpful thinking patterns that may be impacting your relationships and guide you toward building more connection, trust, and understanding—whether in healing from the past or strengthening your current relationship.

Anger and Mood Issues Therapy
Our support for anger and mood management is through a skills-based approach. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by strong emotions, struggling to manage outbursts, or noticing that your moods are affecting your relationships or daily life, we’re here to help. Our core approaches are rooted in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which focuses on building emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. These evidence-based skills can help you better understand your emotional responses, respond more calmly in difficult situations, and create more balance in your day-to-day life. With the right tools and support, it's possible to feel more in control and less reactive, even when life feels intense or unpredictable.

Life Changes and Transitions Therapy
We provide a supportive space to help you navigate life transitions with confidence and clarity. You’ll gain perspective on your experiences, build resilience, and develop practical coping strategies for managing stress and emotions. Together, we’ll explore how these changes impact your identity, clarify your goals, and strengthen your relationships, so you feel grounded and ready to move forward.

Self-Esteem and Self-Worth Therapy
Build more confidence through mindset coaching. Break free from self-doubt and start showing up with more clarity, purpose, and self-belief. Whether you're feeling stuck, holding yourself back, or struggling with imposter syndrome, our confidence psychotherapy blends therapeutic insight with practical mindset strategies to help you shift your inner dialogue. We focus on helping you identify limiting beliefs, set empowering goals, and develop the mental habits that support growth and resilience. This approach is especially helpful for anyone looking to make meaningful changes in their personal or professional life, speak up more, take healthy risks, and move forward with a stronger, more grounded sense of self.
Simple, Stress Free Process
1
Meet & Greet because healing starts with connection
We understand that finding the right therapist is an important step. That’s why we offer a free consultation where you can meet with us, ask questions, and see if we’re the right fit for you—no pressure, no cost. It’s a chance to get comfortable and make sure this feels like a good place for you.
2
Assessment
The first few sessions are all about getting to know you— your life, your story, what you’re struggling with, and who you want to be. Using psychotherapy methods that have been proven to help, we’ll put together a plan to support your goals.
3
Join Sessions Your Way
You get to choose how we connect—whether in person, by video, phone, or email—whatever fits your life best. We’ll keep track of your progress regularly and give you simple activities to work on between sessions. Together, we’ll stay focused on your goals and celebrate the steps forward.
4
Maintain Your Progress
Once we’ve reached your goals, we’ll spend a session or two creating a maintenance plan together. This plan will help you stay motivated and keep you accountable, so you can maintain the progress you’ve made long after therapy ends.

Why going to Therapy Is a Power Move
Safe space. Let’s be real—life can get overwhelming sometimes, and there’s no shame in needing support. That’s where psychotherapy comes in. Think of it like having a safe space where you can unpack your thoughts, feelings, and worries without judgment.
Wellness skills development. Learn necessary life skills for your mental health. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, stress, relationship stuff, past trauma, or just feeling stuck, therapy helps you make sense of it all and figure out healthier ways to cope. It’s not only about “fixing problems”—it’s also about getting to know yourself better, building emotional strength, and learning tools that make everyday life feel more manageable.
Living a happier, more fulfilling life starts with investing in your mental and emotional well-being. It can really boost not just how you feel, but also the quality of your relationships. And honestly, the more we talk openly about mental health, the more we smash that outdated stigma that says needing help is “weird.” These days, it’s almost stranger not to have a therapist. Plus, you don’t have to wait for a crisis to reach out. Think about it—no one waits for their car to break down before getting an oil change. It’s the same with mental health. Preventative therapy is about checking in regularly, so things don’t get overwhelming. It’s self-care, plain and simple.
Preventative care - You’re not “too okay” for therapy. Some people still think therapy is only for when things are really bad, but honestly, it’s for anyone who wants to grow, heal, or just feel more in control. Therapy can be even more powerful when you use it to stay grounded, rather than only when you're trying to get back on your feet. It gives you space to process stress before it builds up, to reflect on your habits and relationships, and to strengthen your coping skills while things are still steady. Just like going to the gym or eating well to take care of your body, therapy is a way to take care of your emotional and mental well-being. In fact, choosing it when you're doing relatively fine is often the smartest, most proactive move you can make for your long-term peace and stability.
Some things are easier with A Trained Therapist by your side

Hey there, I'm Slavena Lima — creator of Lima Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I’ve been working in mental health since 2013, when I started out as a Rehabilitation Therapist supporting people with acquired brain injuries and mental health challenges. I’d just finished my Honors degree in Psychology, and honestly, I knew pretty quickly that this was the kind of work I wanted to do long-term. After nearly five years in that role, I took the leap and went back to study my Master’s in Counselling Psychology—because I wanted to be able to support people in a deeper, more meaningful way.
After graduating in 2021 as a Registered Psychotherapist, I created Lima Counselling and Psychotherapy as a space that feels warm, safe, and real. This isn’t a cold, clinical setting—it’s a place for open, meaningful conversations, healing, growth, and sometimes even a bit of laughter over coffee or tea. My approach is all about meeting you where you’re at, walking alongside you, and helping you feel empowered in your own story. I’m also super passionate about breaking down the stigma around mental health—because needing support isn’t a weakness, it’s human.

Hi, I'm Reza Rejahiyan
Hi, I’m so happy you’ve found your way here. Supporting people through life’s ups and downs is not just my profession—it’s something I truly care about. I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and families who are facing big life changes or navigating mental health challenges. I’ve had the honor of working with clients from a wide range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, and I approach every person with empathy, respect, and a genuine desire to help them feel understood and empowered.
Before becoming a therapist, I practiced medicine for over ten years as an MD, which gave me a deep understanding of the connection between physical and emotional well-being. I later earned my Master’s in Psychology from Yorkville University to fully step into the mental health field. I’m also fluent in both English and Persian, which allows me to support Persian-speaking clients in a way that’s culturally sensitive and language-appropriate. It’s incredibly important to me that my clients feel safe, seen, and supported—because healing starts with connection.
